I assume your post was directed at me. I could be wrong.
I was only asking if you meant to say "diversity" rather than "adversity" because I was confused by your message. "Adversity" doesn't make life great, as you said. It makes life difficult.
I'm not perfect. I'm just trying to understand.

Commonsense, I posted a reply but it disappeared. My reply stated; I meant what I said and said what I meant. I know the meaning between ADversity and DIversity. While I amended my post to read "Civil Adversity* all I was saying is, instead of being DIverse and dis agreeing about some things civilly and politely, some people try to be ADverse with their opinions by calling others names and being insulting because others do not agree with their opinions. I really think it would behoove folk to bone up on their reading comprehension skills if they are having difficulty understanding the written word without it being explained in detail. HAVE A GREAT TURKEY DAY!!!

Surfgirl,
Webster's defines the word "adversity" as "stress, afflection, hardship." The reason I didn't understand your post is that, given the definition, your post makes no sense.
I have no trouble with reading comprehension. And, for future reference, the correct spelling is "behove," not "behoove."
Go ahead, tell me I'm picky and perfectionist and all that. We all make spelling and syntax errors - no problem. But when you manage to use the entirely wrong word for what you're trying to say - and then put me down for asking politely if you meant another word, for trying to understand you - I would say that's pretty silly of you.
Whatever. I have no interest in arguing with you. I don't know you. I was just trying to understand what you were saying, and my efforts were met with nastiness.

I would *never* call you a perfectionist. QUOTE; Webster's defines the word "adversity" as "stress, afflection, hardship END QUOTE; Did you mean AFFLICTION instead of afflection?

Surfgirl,
Of course I mean "affliction" rather than "afflection." That is a prime example of what we call a "typo," and it's the sort of thing most of us overlook. It doesn't change the meaning of my message.
This all started because I was trying to make some sense of one of your messages. I won't make that mistake again. From now on, post whatever inanities you want to, and I won't comment on any of them.

Commonsense :-[I was only twiting you a little bit. Find a sense of humor. this is one world and we all have only one time to go around so why not make it as pleasant as possible? I am sorry if I offended you but you do have this irritable way of addressing your post. Why not be just a little less *picky* and a little more forgiving with your criticisims of others post. (By the way is really is *behooves*) Just know that I really do wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you have a lot of family to share your day with.
