I feel this Perr-fect kitty thing is in need of a poll to see how the public feels. I personal feel they are being railroaded. How about you

These people were/are criminals. Did you read the newspaper articles??? They found 30 DEAD CATS in there when they raided the place, and a lot of the other cats had to be put down because they were so sick. If any of you visited the place you'd know you could smell it from outside!! They were operating in a condemned building, and they were in it only for the money. They deserve everything the law can throw at them, and then some.

Do you believe everything you read in the paper? ? Did you investigate yourself??? If you did you would find out alot of different stuff than what was in the paper...it people like you that believe the papers, news, and other "blow it out of proportion atricles" that are hipocrits!!! Do your homework first before opening your mouth...call around and ask the local vets, you will hear nothing but good things, I too thought something was up with the place until I did my homework, and if they were in it for money explain why they had a $2000 vet bill? ? I hope nothing becomes of the women who ran the place....they tried to do a good thing and got ripped!!!!

Why do you assume I posted without having personal experience? I went to Purr-fect Kitty. I had a lot of interaction with the people there. I've also talked directly to various officials who were involved with closing the place down. These are good-old southern boys who probably aren't too fond of cats to begin with, and even they were sickened and outraged. I've talked to people who either got animals from them or left their animals with them, and without exception all I heard were horror stories. My own experience was a nightmare of the worst kind. I can only assume you worked for them, or else you wouldn't be spouting this "harrassment" nonsense. Any reasonable person, after having the Purr-fect Kitty Experience, would have been nauseated.

Dear "Citizen 2", You really kinda shoot yourself in the head by calling people hipocrits for believing what they read in the paper and see on the news! There had to be some basis in fact or the story/situation would not exist at all! If what you say is the case, then why should anyone believe any of the crap you're posting here? If you are saying that this place was loving, pampering and caring for these animals-when in fact it was a filthy, diseased death trap-then I think we all know who the hipocrit is here!

They had a $2,000 vet bill - if in fact they did - for the same reason anyone has a vet bill: They didn't pay it. That doesn't mean they didn't have the money because they were spending it all on the precious kitties. That only means they didn't pay their bills. Considering that they charged about $100 to leave a cat with them, and another $100 to adopt the same cat, and that they had no rent because their building had been condemned, what are we supposed to think they did with the money?
Many bags of used cat litter were found on the premises, and they had no heat or air conditioning. The roof needed fixing. So what were they spending the money on??
When is the jury trial, anyway - and who decided on that brilliant move? Are there 12 people anywhere who, when shown pictures of what was found there, are going to say "Oh, that could happen to anyone. You're free to go." I think not!!

For one they did pay rent...two the building was not condemed....three they did have heating and air conditioning because the power bill was always over $250 mon. and yes they did pay the vet the best they could but when you get cats that come in faster than they are being adopted and are not int he greatest shape when they come in its gonna catch up. I too have interacted with these people and rescue and know that no mater what shape size, health, anything these people took the cats in even when people couldn't afford to pay them to drop off fee (and their were alot trust me) because they couldn't stand the thought of the owner taking the animal to the Humane Society...I know people are freaking out over this dead cat thing but what the papers left out (on purpose) was that the cats have to be put somewhere until the crematory picked them up to be cremated (that's where alot of their money went, its not cheap you know!) The only reason they were shut down is that (I will not names names here) The officials over cherokee cty Humance society were jealous and couldn't stand it because it was a no-kill!!! They're are too many citizens that are for this rescue and are ready to take the stand even local vets that can say that they tried thrie best to care for the animals but just got too bit too fast...and never got the community support that was needed, because people won't spay or neuter thrie animals...did you know that the had cats with disabilities there that other places were goning to put down??? at lease pkr gave them a chance All i am trying to get across is that the papers and news acan blow things out of poportion, whcih in this case I believe they did because they didn't explain everything. I WILL BE THERE TO SUPPORT PKR!!! don't get me wrong i am an animal lover and believe that animal abuse is awful but i trully know these peoples hearts and know that nothing was done to deliberlatey hurt the animals!!

Yeah, sure. The Humane Society was jealous and that's why PKR was closed down. And of course we all understand that 30 DEAD CATS were just lying there waiting for the crematorium to pick them up. How long had they been waiting, and why were there so many dead cats?
How about all the neighbor complaints? How about the fact that PKR didn't have a license to operate within city limits? Was everyone just jealous?
It must be hard to be so misunderstood.

Your message might be a lot more readable if you didn't use the smileys and if you had any idea how to spell or punctuate. Is English your native language? If so, you have no excuse.

Hey, your illiterate ranting isn't making you any points here. Once again, I was THERE. Anyone who was there - and who had the sense God gave a turnip - would know that the animals were in bad shape and that they weren't taken care of properly.
The police department made a routine visit to investigate a complaint. Based on what they found on that visit, they closed the place down immediately and arrested the people involved. Now I know in your paranoid mind that means they were out to get you, but that's highly unlikely. The police obviously had legal cause to shut you guys down, and that means you were violating laws.
It's no good going on about the humane society. We all know the horrible stories about how many animals are put down in all the counties in this country, and it is truly a nasty situation. But when people neglect animals while collecting money for it, that is even more horrible.
You can lie all you want to about the situation there, but since I know the situation you aren't going to convince me. At least PKR will never operate in this area of the country again. Thank God for that small favor.
