In Harvard Newspaper, Kerry Said He'd 'Almost Eliminate CIA Activity'
POSTED: 3:15 p.m. EST February 11, 2004 UPDATED: 3:23 p.m. EST February 11, 2004
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The man who's now the clear front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination once said the United Nations should be in charge of the U.S. military.
In the interview, Kerry described himself as an "internationalist" who wanted to "almost eliminate CIA activity."
The junior senator from Massachusetts also said he wanted to see U.S. troops sent to other countries "only at the directive of the United Nations."
As a presidential candidate, Kerry has said he supports the autonomy of the U.S. military and has not called for a reduction in CIA operations.
But a spokesman for the Bush campaign said Kerry's remarks are a sign of his weakness on defense.

I thought you were always supposed to capitalize the word "Christ".
