I like my tree and my house to be lit Thanksgiving evening after the BIG turkey meal. But, sadly this year we didn't make it. The outside lights are all up but am just now going to get my tree. and, praying that all the little sickies ( ) in my family hurry and get all better or this is going to be one sorry Christmas. Hope every one else is staying well and getting close to being ready for Santa?? My plans are, Going to the sons for Christmas dinner and to celebrate my oldest Grandaughter's Birthday that evening. She was a Lovely Christmas gift 18 years ago on the 25th. Never recieved a better one.......before or after. Whats on your agenda?

Surfgirl, this is my kinda post! TY for asking! ;D Well, since the kids have grown, we really haven't done the "tree" in a couple years now. But now that we have a Grandson (just learned to walk and we're so proud) , that is gonna have to change, though we haven't put one up this year. Will put up a nice one next year though. Just been too busy this year to put one up. Or, maybe I'm just that lazy! Unfortunately, since I work retail, I'll be working Christmas Eve. Luckily, our store will close early, then I'm off to my sisters to be with all the family! Used to be held at Mama's, until this year. Sis has plenty of space, and decided to give Mama a rest! Almost have our shopping finished. We're always last minute people! ..But as long as the job gets finished, right? I hope your family gets over their sickness before the holidays! Best Wishes, JavaMom38

The situation worsens JavaMom . Now the hubby is down and getting worse. What makes his so scary is, he has bronchitis and is having trouble breathing AND he was on an antibiotic when this thing worsened. Which does not bode well for the near future. I will say it here, {but not to any of my family.} " I TOLD YOU SO!" I TRIED to get them all to get their flu shots back in Oct. When I got mine.) But, NOOOOOOOO! while it is true that the flu shot does not help with the new strain it is my understanding that it makes it a little easier on the person if they do get it. Maybe next year they will do better? Anyway, I am just hoping and praying for Monday to get here and hoping I can get the hubby in to the Dr's office to be seen.

OH NO Surfgirl. So sorry to hear that. Hopefully your doctor will be able to work him in. The flu is really bad this year. I heard on the news the other day that Gaston Memorial is allowing only one visitor per patient in at a time because of it. I was in my doctors office a few weeks ago and he asked if I wanted the Flu Shot. Told him no, as I am lucky about not catching stuff. But now I'm rethinking that. Hubby is going to get his shot on his office visit next week. Best wishes to your family. Hope they all get over this quickly. Sincerely, JavaMom

Thanks JavaMom, for the well wishes. I really would not be having such a fit if it had been differant last year but, last year just about this time the oldest grand daughter came down with salmonella poisoning and was ensconced in the hospital here in Gaffney. Her father (my son)was placed in the bed next to her with a blood clot in his leg. She was getting no better so, on Christmas eve they transferred her to Greenville. So, she woke up in Greenville Christmas Morning (her Birthday also) and found that Santa had followed her all the way to Greenville. So I think you can see why I am a little apprehensive about the way this is going this year? But, enough of my whine, besides, I don't even have cheese to go with it. Have a Happy one! One way or the other we will. (Positive thinking, ya' know?)

Hi Surfgirl,
I can sure understand what you're going through..as for the past few Christmases, Mama has been in the hospital more often than not, for one reason or other. She recently had to go in for a "heart cath", but thankfully, all turned out well! Will have her home this Christmas!
I hope your family made it to the doc and all is getting better. Keep me updated!
Best Wishes,
JavaMom

Like all white trash, I like to put my tree up even before Thanksgiving. Then I put all the obnoxious lights I can on my double wide and in my yard just to annoy the neighbors. Then I run out and charge trashy Walmart stuff on my cousin's credit card. Then I sit around drunk, wondering how my life got so screwed up.
