There is so much, what's the word , seriousness..lol..going on on these boards, I thought I would try to lighten things up a little by asking the above question Do you prefer to give/receive home made or store bought gifts? Usually, we give store bought gifts. Though, this year I've made a good bit gifts to give and it's been a lot of fun preparing them! I also like to receive home made gifts, so I'm hoping most others feel the same way! Which do you prefer? ;D

Homemade!! Homemade!!! all the time! I give mostly *store bought* to my grandkids and their mother as they seem to prefer it. But I LOVE making and giving things/and getting things that are made by hand as to me they mean so much more. A short story. My hubby and I celebrated our first valentines day as man and wife with *no money!* the middle of the month and, as he was in the service cash was lean. I worked and was making $35.00 a wk which was buying us food. I came home that night about midnight and as I opened our little trailer door, the kitchen table sat right in front of it and their was a *huge* card sitting on the table probably a 12x24 piece of cardboard, covered with white paper and dotted with tiny red hearts and a sweet note. That was years ago and I still have it and prize it above anything I have gotten since. So homemade for me.

What a SWEET story Surfgirl! You must have a wonderful husband ;D I agree with you..i LOVE the home-made gifts myself! One of my favorites is a painting my Mom gave me several years ago. So nice to have it hanging on my wall...The time spent on gifts make them so much more memorable!

I prefer cash. No one else knows what I want, and no one I know has any kind of creative talent whatsoever. Oh, except for cousin Earl, who is in federal prison for getting creative with company money.
